Moleskine day...

While I haven't been turning out too many paintings lately, I do continue to fill up my faithful little moleskine book with spontaneous little ink sketches in cafes and airports!

Beautiful work, Mike. I love your loose stuff. Did you use a brush pen or just a marker?

I have a japanese brush marker that I like. Unlike a lot of brush marker tips, this one has a hair tip like a "real" brush.

great stuff !
I find it really hard to draw people in public areas ... I feel like a "voyeur" (peeping tom in english ?).
Do you have special tricks in order to not be seen ? Or do you openly draw people ?
Japanese brush markers are great ^^

These drawing are done very quickly so there isn't a lot of staring involved. One trick that I learned early on, is when you look up from your drawing, to look somewhere other than the model, and then just glance over in their direction rather than the usually life drawing thing of "look at model...look at drawing" back and forth.
I've gotten "caught" a few times but when that happens, I just move on to the next one !
