A girl

These days rather than painting in my sketchbook, I use small pieces of masonite or canvas board. One of the perks is that I can put them around the room and see them rather than just flipping past them in my sketchbook. This is probably one of the reasons why I like painting contented faces too, the last thing I need is a bunch of unhappy folks staring at me in the studio!
I primed a bunch of these masonite boards a while back using a roller which makes a slight texture on the surface which can be good and bad.

Another nice one! Thanks for the large close up too - I love studying the brush strokes.

Just curious - when you say "small" piece of masonite, how small are you talking about?

Thanks Steve, I love to see art up close myself. Yeah, I'm that guy at the museum that the staff has to tell to step back :)
The sizes vary but most are 4x6 or 6x8 inches these days.

Beautiful! Love looking at the brush strokes as well.
I finally got around to doing my own sketchpaints. Done about four so far on Canson canvas paper. Didn't think I'd be able to paint small...but it's actually alot easier.
Thanks for the inspiration Mr. Dooney!

I like that Canson canvas paper too, in fact the one that I'm working on right now is done on that.
